Tally on Cloud

How to connect Tally on cloud with Biz Analyst

When the tally is on the cloud then the user should have a static IP address and also for Fixed Port number.

Where to find an IP address and port no

You will get the static Ip address and fixed port from the tally service providers.

How to assign it in Biz Analyst desktop app

Go to Settings->Tally->Enter IP address in Tally host and port no. below that. You can also refer this link https://help.bizanalyst.in/support/how-to-connect-with-tally-on-cloud

What does the user need to make sure on a daily basis

  • ODBC port is always open

  • First-person to open up tally will get the odbc port, if he/she shuts tally then data won't sync.

Other requirements

Need to make sure the Tally serial number is also different for each client, else only 1 customer will be able to use the app.

How to assign different ODBC port to each customer?

  • Install tally in each folder & then give access of each tally folder to each client

  • Assign different ODBC port to each client

  • Need to make sure the Tally serial number is also different for each client, else only 1 customer will be able to use the app.

It is only syncing one of my company others shows not open in tally whereas it is opened.

Check for the ODBC port no. in your tally it should be a fixed port because if you connect cloud tally through RDP you should have that same port no. in your tally. For the fixed port no, you can install a separate tally on another drive and configure the ODBC port over there.

Not able to configure ODBC port

If the tally is on the cloud then it requires a Fixed Port number from the service providers. To configure that port in tally follows the link below: https://help.bizanalyst.in/support/tally-not-connected/how-to-enable-odbc

Biz Analyst app is on the Local system and tally is on the cloud. I have Ip and fixed port no. still not able to connect with Biz App.

The Ip has to be static and the Biz Analyst desktop installed should be on the same network. Check for the IP address if it has an open port or not and then try to connect it with the Biz Analyst app.

Customers have standalone servers. When multiple users log in they can face the ODBC port issue

The solution is installing tally at 2 different locations. For the fixed port no, install a separate tally on another drive and configure the ODBC port over there.

To configure that port in tally follows the link below: https://help.bizanalyst.in/support/tally-not-connected/how-to-enable-odbc

Does the desktop app need to be installed on the server machine or the client machine? In the case of a server machine, do we need to put a localhost or IP address?

Biz Analyst desktop app needs to be installed on a server machine. Enter the IP address of the server machine in the tally host.

Is the sync slow from tally on the cloud server?

No, If your tally is getting slow that may be because of these pointers,

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 or above

  • Minimum 8gb RAM

  • Minimum 500mb free disk space

  • Instead. 32 bit OS- 64 bit windows will make the system fast.

  • Processor: For huge database recommended i5/ i7 with 4 core.

  • Hard disk: SSD for large data.
